bro it has been a HOT minute since a book made me literally cry

NOT to sound anti feminist but i wish this side character had actually died and haunted the main character. her death had legit gravity for the main character and it feels like poof now that emotional investment is gone now that she's alive and well and about to get married and knows how to use the forbidden magic and is for the most part thriving. like.... all the weight and grief the main character had? for nothing

so im about at the half way point and im ngl if that was ALLLLLL the spooky forest we get from this book, which was about 30% of the book, im going to be cross. "the forest eats the girls who wander out after dark" is what i was promised. I dont want to be in the city doing a jailbreak lmfao

this laundress just happens to have the floorplans to the royal palace? because she stole random things for retirement? I mean I suppose?
