I'm about three quarters of the way through and I have questions.. .

She has a background in forensics, her boyfriend/step uncle is law enforcement.... so why do they never think, "hang on this stalker guy jizzed inside you! Let's get a dna test done!" It seems like a massive flaw in the storyline given that there professions.
Also, if she cut her own wrists free with the knife, where are those ropes?!
