Franz Kafka’s ‘Meditations’ so far are some interesting short stories, of varying lengths and contents, all dealing with various social and societal eccentricities. None are observations that would be out of place among the thoughts of some introverted, angsty person disconcerted with the social norms of public society

Read “The Judgment” today. Utterly incredible, yet very confusing. Kafka sets the scene of a young businessman writing a letter to his forlorn friend living in St. Petersburg, while he’s living with his father and they’re dealing with the loss of their mother. It becomes this overwhelming, kind of mystical confrontation between father and son. Loved it, can’t wait to read Metamorphosis next

Haven’t gotten to Metamorphosis yet, just read Conversation with a Supplicant. A wonderful short story about feeling invisible, yet feeling cognizant of every disorderly detail, every little thing of a society
