This authors idea of a strong woman is someone who thinks about men constantly, runs away all the time, and slaps/punches/kicks people when she is mad at them.

If I read “the round curve of her hips” one more time I’m going to scream.

It’s not the following day, but within a handful of days, she is full on sprinting again in spite of her broken leg also. All of her injuries seem to no longer be relevant. What a surprise, who could’ve seen this coming. 🙄

I don’t understand the point of detailing out a horrific abuse scene, and all these injuries and within hours, she is having sex with Charlie, with no indication that any of these wounds are causing her any pain or hindering her in any way. Some of her bruises are already yellowing (normally 5-10 days), heck by tomorrow she’ll be doing full sprints! This reads like a bad fever dream, is that the intention??

Every single one of Charlie’s fucking POV’s start starts with I lost Louise again. Whoop Dee doo brother. Does anyone in this town actually do anything other than lust after Louise/drive around aimlessly.

One of the more confusing doctors office visits I have read through. Has the author been to a doctor before? In what world is the doctors groin the best position for fixing a wound on the crown of the patients head, (he couldn’t stand behind and to the side of her??), what doctor places a plaster cast for one week…One week!!??? bones take 4-6 weeks to mend. She’s going to be disabled for life doc.

Correction to my past update. Her action is consistent in that scene (who leaves who returns), but she writes in such a way that it is challenging to follow. I shouldn’t be struggling so hard to follow what’s happening in a scene.

I feel like this book is so vague and ambiguous even the author gets lost. There’s a scene where Louise is confronted by Mr. Bradlock in her grandma‘s house, her grandmother leaves the house and halfway through the scene it’s Louise that’s outside of the house returning to her grandmother. With all these characters motivations and personalities being so ambiguous as well, it’s just confusing
