Oofh. Definitely some dated language here, but I sort of look at it like Agatha Christie's works. They were written when they were written. They're sort of like a cultural time capsule, if you will.

I was crazy for Nancy Drew as a girl in the 70's. Funny how that language felt normal at the time. I encountered that with some old movies as well - like the original Pink Panther for example.
