There are so many grammatical errors in this book. It's wild. And yet, for the first time in my life, I am not bothered by them. I just notice and move on. In fact, I can take it a step further and say that I feel a comfort knowing (divine) humans made this Beauty manifest. The imperfections being a reminder that I am also allowed to be imperfect.
This book is everything I wanted and needed. I'm grateful.

This section brought up memories of what it was like to be a member of my family—especially at meal times around the table. In this moment, it's clicked as to why I stopped eating. I attributed it to a lack of appetite from the chronic stress, but choosing not to eat was also the last bit of agency I had left. The narcissistic mother and enabling father were the punishing prison guards while my siblings and I were to do as they said no matter if it made sense or not. The war at home.

Correction: Mother was the captain in charge of the prison.
