Cal Newport elaborates on this idea by contrasting the “craftsman mindset“ with the “passion mindset,“ writing, “Whereas the craftsman mindset focuses on what you can offer the world, the passion mindset focuses instead on what the world can offer you.“

No one is served when someone does work they can’t do well, even if they have the best intentions.
