Overall a great introduction into the study of the period but I have some minor critiques:
- Fitzpatrick goes SO fast in introducing some key names and parties that you struggle to understand the weight of each actor, mostly caused by the overall short length of the book
- Her thesis about Lenin’s ‘authoritarian bent’ is disagreeable and sometimes shines through in ways I find hinder the rest of the argument
