I think a huge mistake for dark romances is that in making all the characters edgy, there's no reaction to the murder or torture or toxic themes so everything feels tame and unfeeling. as a reader I've become unsympathetic to these characters and situations they're in. basically it's slop

the motivations and world building are so shallow cuz what is stopping them from just killing the evil dad character? 🫪

it's so tacky and so bad but like in a fun way? it's very ridiculous 🤣
