I had forgotten how essential Doyle's essays can be for my mental well-being. Even in the most seemingly mundane stories he manages to gift us with something "huge and crucial and holy".

Imaginative and captivating.

Hawk Words p. 181-182 I will be reading this again. Pieces like this are so rich and satisfying you just have to sit with them afterward and be present. It is why I am taking so long to read this collection. A little reading followed by a lot of awe, wonder, emotion, silence.
