Okay i know the gargoyle is just a literary device for some philosophical monologue to take place, but he’s acting like a damn spoiled child, interrupting important dialogue and character dynamics. I swear to God i have seen side characters/ pets written way better than this. Annoying. If he doesn’t redeem himself till the end, by sacrifice preferably, book will lose at least one star

I know this could read like a fanfic bcs of the tropes and prefictable character interactions like come on Hamelin poor guy was there just to get the jealousy trope, we get enemies to lovers, we get she gets kidnapped he s getting her back, forced proximity. Anyway like a thousand tropes squeezed together. But the world building is so good that i can’t be mad
