Danggg if anyone in this book would be able to take on and kill three adult velociraptors, it would be Alan Grant, AND ALAN GRANT IT WAS INDEED! He was so smart to lead them to the hatchery and use the eggs (raptors are known to eat Dino eggs) with injected poison in them

AINT NO WAY WU JUST GOT AMBUSHED BY A RAPTOR FROM THE ROOF!! He was literally just reflecting on his reluctant pride on the fact that the animals can breed—that he created the animals so successfully. That, and realized that intelligent creatures get bored easily (like we do) and the raptors were likely distracting Ellie, like she was trying to distract them…
