I’ve never been down on these books, per se, though initially it was my expectation that it would develop more, rather than actual interest, which kept me going. I liked the last book more than I had the earlier two, and I think I like this one better still. It’s expanding… the 18th is getting bigger. I’m enjoying the philosophical musings and eager to find out where the narrative could possibly go.

“What may be a catastrophe for one person is perhaps merely a setback for another, Olga said, prompting yet another of our recurring debates: Should what had happened to us be called a catastrophe, or would Marlice's anastrophe be a more fitting term?”

NO! It’s a… TEXTMERGENCY!

I wasn’t super enthused by the first 2 books in this 7-part series but kept with it thinking that it would get better as it went along. And because they’re short, so it doesn’t feel like a big ask. I liked the 3rd book more and so far I think I’m liking this one more, too. As things get a little more complicated, the intrigue of the series increases. And the author (or the translator) is a very good writer.

My hold on this came available from my library. Even though I’m in the middle of a different book, I’m eager to read this and I thought it would be good for the hotel this weekend when everybody else is asleep, since I can read it on my phone without needing a lamp. I did start it last night but got sleepy quite quickly myself, so I did not get very far into it before zonking out.
