Part 2/4: Allos' hardships in America as a Filipino dealing with unemployment and blatant racism. This had a very roller coaster structure where he can be doing well in one moment, the completely penniless in the next. There's also a LOT of train rides from city to city in search of jobs. Noticeable in his writing is he barely builds up pivotal moments such as reuniting w his brothers.

Part 3/4: Covers Carlos's involvement in the Filipino labor movement across California. A future edition should feature a map of the locations with how much he travels from place to place. Ends on Carlos's illness and life sentence, as well as his falling deep into literature.
