guillam is stressing me outttt 😭 it’s kind of crazy though, the tension (dread?) is strong in a way i’m only used to feeling in movies. i’m interested in seeing who gerald turns out to be. maybe percy? or tom but that feels less likely imo

intro was a bit slow but i’m intrigued with tarr’s whole story. excited to see where everything with the school plot goes but honestly i much prefer the chapters focused around smiley and the other guys. all the spy talk feels super grounded, you can tell the author was once part of the scene
