TSoP book 2 chp 1:
Enjoyed Rosalind and Amory’s relationship. Theatrical and a bit over the top, but it captures that dilemma of love vs practicality. I also liked Rosalind’s Machiavelli, dominating attitude with regards to the men courting her; she did flip rather quick with Amory though, but I guess it makes sense since he’s the first to actually challenge her.
The play format also made it easier to read.

A touch cereberal and intellectual and a bit too up its own ass with literary/philosophical references.
Kinda struggled to follow those tbh reads, but did overall enjoy the psychological landscape of a young man coming to terms with the existential question of purpose in life.

It’s hard for me to read with the almost excessive literary references. Otherwise I do think it’s a good exploration of a young man discovering and maturing.
Especially with regards to the characters he observes and realizes his characterization with.

The actually story I’m not so smitten with but holy the vibes and language are so damn good. Prose is elegant and flowy and beautiful.
I appreciate a good young man lost story and this one comes at it through the lens of privilege in a way that’s intentionally egotistical but not grating.
