I only recently learned this book exists. LU, the fourth in the ‘Track’ series, came out in 2018. This one was published 7 years later. How odd. All four of the earlier ‘Track’ installments were extraordinary. Some of them made me bawl. I gave them all five stars at the time I read them. I definitely have high hopes for this. Fingz xd. 🤞

I read more than I normally do today: during both 15-minute work breaks and during lunch. Now I’m 90% through. I imagine I’ll finish tonight. My feelings on it at this stage are… I like it, and I love Reynolds’ writing - the way he captures the character’s voice so well. But nothing has really made me LOVE the book as a whole yet. Thinking probably 4 stars at this point. Almost is almost enough.

Some funny moments, some kinda poignant writing. Nothing that’s completely sealed the deal for me yet but I’m still betting it’ll happen. I think there’s been some references to the earlier books which I didn’t fully get, having read them too long ago. I feel like I ended on a real exciting moment tonight, where it seems Otis is deciding to become a long-jumper instead of a runner. I’m eager to read on.
