Okay, he's letting her tell him IN DETAIL about her made up mermaid persona she was creating with her friend?! "Letting her" sounds gross, but he's not shutting her down or ignoring her. And somehow the fact that he hasn't been written as fully engaged in the conversation and is ordering refills and thinking about some other things as she talks but is also picking up main points of her description.😍
