RE: the current chapter I’m on—this is one of the funniest things I’ve ever read in context. 1600s brother lawrence writing to this guy going “you’ve been so annoyingly persistent asking me to explain that I’m gonna do it ONCE. but ONLY on the condition that you never show ANYONE ever at all” and then the entire shebang getting published globally for centuries. this poor monk lol
