It is hard to call Austen boring, but this aura of mild dullness that pervades this one for me is stumping me a little. The novel is wider in scope in a way than the previous three but without hitting some of the same highs. If you read one Austen I could see this being the ideal choice but it may end ip being my least favorite when I finish all of them. Emma's monologue lacks compared to characters like P&P's Liz
