The thing that struck me while reading was like how parents really affect children's lives and no two siblings are the same like I mean they might be living the same trauma but end up differently.

In the three chapters I read, All things that we have been told patriarchy does to a woman, to their bodies, mind and soul, in this story women are doing it to themselves. Superstition, finding worth in child bearing for sons only, raising sons as violent men. In all of this where is the agency of men? Or lack of it?

Naze frustrates me bcz what kind of a mother can hold a grudge against her own daughters for mere being born daughters! It just goes to show how women have internalised patriarchal expectations and feel unfulfilled for not meeting them.
