You know, this book really brings up a good point that is often lost when it comes to sexual assault. That is that you should try to mitigate risk because we don't live in an ideal world...but even if you don't, it's not your fault. BOTH things can be true. It's not victim blaming to make women aware of how to mitigate risk, it's just good safety logistics.

Okay, it is super awkward that they don't have a full or real conversation after everything that happened! I mean they have because he's obviously the tutor, but as she knows him, they've barely exchanged more than a couple sentences and after like 3 times asking if she's okay, suddenly he's become "Mr. Bad Boy" I feel like you're not fooling anyone since this started off with him saving her from SA, lol.

So many reviews talk about how unrealistic her response to the attempted rap was and I have to COMPLETELY disagree. It may not be the best way to handle it, but considering how much SA is underreported, a lot or a large majority of girls, especially in 2012 also would have just tried to block it out and move on. This is far too common. It's not like she's unaffected, she's VERY affected, she just doesn't want to be.

The RAGE and hurt I feel for the FMC when her boyfriend of 3 years who she followed to college breaks up with her so he could fuck other women! What a total douche bag! I mean, I guess it's better than flat out cheating on her, but barely! Idk, if he's right or wrong, but I hope he comes back begging before the end. A promising start though! I love books that start with a gut punch and then they find someone better
