The representational problem in philosophy of mind is beautiful: How do things (images, symbols, ideas, words, etc.) represent things (people, numbers, books, dogs, cats, etc.)? We take this phenomenon for granted but there's something really mysterious about it. Especially when we realize that the things that represent stuff aren't by themselves meaningful, e.g. words are just a bunch of sound waves
