'What is a person, if not the marks they leave behind?'
Had this on my physical TBR for a couple of years, Oop-. Looking forward to immersing myself in Addie's Life!

The bit where the Deutsche Bahn inspector wouldn't let her go until she showed him her ticket... Thought I was reading a non-fiction for a second there

'Being forgotten, she thinks, is a bit like going mad. You begin to wonder what is real, if you are real. After all, how can a thing be real if it cannot be remembered? It's like that Zen koan, the one about the tree falling in the woods.
If no one heard it, did it happen?
If a person cannot leave a mark, do they exist?'

What I'm liking about this so far:
- its short chapters and quick pacing
What I'm not enjoying that much so far:
- its short chapters and quick pacing
I feel like the chapters are too short to contain a satisfying amount of new content, and the back and forth setting changes are giving me whiplash. I like that they're short, as it keeps me reading, but mostly because I feel like I haven't read any new information
