This book seriously is in tiktok format, and reads like ai. It’s so cheap. The only thing Bear prioritizes is dialogue and it makes the setting and imagining scenes wretched and annoying. This chapter is the worst because it’s Leandros. It’s… just so meh.

This is my last chapter and epiglogue for the book. And it ends with no fanfare. It is boring. It is predictable. It is horny and romantic because that’s all Bear wants from women. I’m in the process of scripting my video and uploading it to YouTube. I am elated to finally be done…

Rheas special and two gods love her. Cybele is only there for garnish and to say that Rheas dying and that she’s special and two gods love her. Apparently Mars x Rhea doesn’t work bc “Mars loves War and Rhea loves Home” and he’d be gone a lot for war. Which I guess makes sense but wouldn’t Rhea be the same? She’s a wild woman. Also wolf Rhea dies so she’s gonna be immortalized last chapter I bet.

Hopefully the last Antho chapter. Tavias now the head Vestal Virgin, Claudia is in the city, Ezio and Numitor are rebuilding Alba Longa. Then it’s all Leandros and Leandros being home and their kids and yeah. It’s sweet enough.

Another okay chapter. Her talk with Numitor is at least in character and makes sense. And I know the sons are 17, and their conversation with Rhea is nice. even so all the emotional moments are lessened by the poor writing.

Probably the longest chapter of the book and yet so little is done. It’s melodramatic honestly. A couple monologues, and a lot of arguing. Numitor poisoned the wine and it’s meant to the reader to just laugh at Calvus and for more things to be spelled out for the reader. No stakes at al.

Now Claudia gets a chapter so Bear can try and provide more dimension to her, because god forbid Bear put any effort into subtle characterization. Nah she just needs to outright say Amulius doesn’t appreciate her and she wants to be seen. The last line was complete dogshit too, she just wanted to mention Penelope. Numitor def poisoned that wine.

For a chapter about revolution it’s very boring. The description is nothing. The dialogue is bland and cheap. I still have no idea what the timeline is here. Nobody believes Romulus until Bear puts Tavia there to affirm him and butcher her own character. The entire revolt is themed around wolves and it’s very awkward. And inaccurate. I hate this.

Wow a whole two pages for Rhea to talk about being a wolf and a strong tenacious women, this is great. I hope my sarcasm reads through. Rhea seems to only care about the men in her life (and Antho) but also Bear killed off any possible important women.

Now Faustulus gets a chapter because Bear presumably doesn’t know how to write proper characterization and instead depends on showing and not telling. It gets the job done, I guess.

Lots of conflicting dialogue on whether something is just violence or not, angry violence or not, if anger can be just and like. I feel that Bear didn’t know how to both justify Rhea and show Romulus as the better man. More portrayal as only Romulus being the good wise brother. Numitor writes a long lengthy letter to Faustulus and glazes Rhea again.
