Up to where I am it's reading like sci fi Hunger Games with a male character. But I know it's going to go in a different direction and I'm excited for that!
Yeah I heard the author say he needed to write this first book a "certain way" to sell it, but once it gained popularity, he could write the series he actually wanted to haha
