Two shorts from Silver Surfer Annual #5.
Pip the Troll is tryna crack onto a lady and uses the space gem to impress her.
By showing off all the Silver Surfer’s recent foes?
Very odd framing. Just show the bad guys!
The second short had Firelord seeking revenge against Nebula for obliterating his homeworld.
Interestingly, it is Eros that leads Firelord to show compassion.
Didn’t expect a Nebula origin!

Princess Alaisa summons Mistress Love to gain power to be Surfer’s ‘equal’.
Turns out Love had already gifted Alaisa power to influence emotions.
But she agrees to bestow more, though the mortal will be beholden to the cosmic being.
Master Hate tempts Alaisa to make a deal with him too…
With this new power, Avatar is still disappointed when Surfer rejects her.
Then she gets mad!

The dragon creature…Reptyl (not heard of him before)!
There’s a fight where the flying reptile proclaims he is the next step of evolution and… *yawn*
Another piece of this story is added with the introduction of Princess Alaisa.
She ignores Surfer’s warnings and ends up in the middle of the fight.
With her distracting him, Surfer couldn’t properly deal with Reptyl. He gets away.

I know Surfer is an introspective being but another story within his own mind, really??
And it’s ongoing from an Annual story I didn’t read!

The Collection Agency siphon Surfer’s cosmic energy. But he overloads the system and there’s a huge explosion.
The leader, Jude, is destroyed - he was a robot.
Shaara grieves and explains her past. I skimmed that part.
The child is destroyed and the virus infects Surfer.
Visions immediately start.
As he flies through space, Surfer sees a giant head and flies straight into its mouth…

Collector wants Surfer to retrieve a child… That hosts a deadly virus that targets the brain…
Someone - we don’t see who - hires the Collection Agency to gather this child as well.
Oh and at the beginning, we get a recap of the Collector’s time with the Avengers. For some reason.
It had no relevance apart from explaining how the Elder was alive when he was seemingly destroyed.

Skimmed most of this. It was just more fighting and explosions.
Cool, sure, but not very interesting to me.
Moondragon recognised the danger and Pip teleported them all out of the doomed ship.
Pip makes a point that maybe the Infinity Watch will work better as a team….
Adam only says ‘we’ll see’.
I’m taking a break from this CE.

It doesn’t help that four out of six are captured.
We get a brief telepathic communication between Adam and the protector of the reality gem.
This guardian has been keeping an eye on the others. Bit sus if you ask me.
The rest of the issue is basically just fighting.
The enemy, Omega, is revealed to be Man-Beast.

I don’t know why these comics love rehashing the same history again and again but it’s getting a little tiring.
That being said, I barely read this. It had to do with the Counter-Earth High Evolutionary created and I can’t even remember how much of that story I even read.
Anyway, Adam recalls those he left the gems with… And is horrified by his decision with the last one…
