I can relate to the family and the dad with PTSD from the war that messed him up. But the move from the Pacific Northwest to Alaska to Alaska in the 70s for a hope of a fresh start. Kristin Hannah seems to really focus on the women and military sensitivities a lot. One thing I will say, the Vietnam war was brutal in real life for the men coming home.. they were essentially spit at and I like that she focuses on these sensitive subjects in fiction
