Absolutely fascinating. From the people who wrote the famous book on the movements of the Mississippi River. How come we started imagining land and water divided by clear stable lines on the Earth’s surface?? Marx and Weber wrote of the great Asiatic waterworks as the foundation of civilization. But what of all the instances when this separation is blurred or constantly moving?
