All of the ships are growing on me (even Wren and August, I know, SHOCKING) but I feel like the author is cramming too much in just a single book, I know that this is a series (and I'm all for established relationships!) but I wish everyone would just slow down

'enemies to lovers' and the enemy part already wore off 🫩 it might look like I'm a fair amount into the book, but this has the povs of FOUR OTHER CHARACTERS not including the main ship so in reality we're not giving the actual main pairing enough page time to develop - also why is August's character so inconsistent???

You know August started being less unbearable, but then Wren got brought up, so now he's insufferable again. It's funny how the main ship is only tolerable when they're not interacting with each other in any shape or form.

"Oh wow, an Olivier chapter! Thank God I get to read about one of my faves and NOT august!" and then the first sentence is something august says 💀

The progression of Wren and August's relationship reminds me of the time I found a high-school au zenlink fanfic tagged with slow burn and enemies to lovers, only for the so called 'enemy' dynamic to resolve in like 5 chapters. Don't mistag your fanfics, and definitely don't do it with your PUBLISHED LITERATURE.

Wren is actually growing on me and her chapters aren't as hard to read. August on the other hand...
