I keep wondering how/ why Jazzy has rich uncle-friends who pay for her VIP seats & drinks (Louis), brunch (Kin-Meng). How is she benefiting from these friendships/ patronages without reciprocity?! These uncles maintain appropriate boundaries, or are they grooming her to become a sugarbaby?

Was considering abandoning this due to painful Singlish audiobook. Suddenly the protagonist, Jazzeline, endeared herself to me starting in chpt 7. I found her & her friends superficial & annoying in the opening chpts.
