This book is so far two books in one. I am already forgetting the initial story and wonder how Anne Brontë will introduce us back into the main plot. I do love to know about Helen's secret and her life, but this is a very long way of finding that out. And at this point, I am wondering when are we going to get to the point? It's getting long...

How can I jump in the story and stop Helen from marrying that despicable human? I see the red flags from miles away and I don't know how Helen, as smart as she is, decides to ignore them! Actually, I do know, we've all been there, believing we can "fix" horrible men...

I am really pissed that Gilbert just let himself assume he knows the truth instead of actually looking to find the truth... then again this is the very problem with humans!

I loved the smoothness and romanticism in Anne Brontë’s style. And absolutely love the cheeky references to her sisters’ books and writings, it feels like finding little Easter eggs and I feel like I get to know the authors personality even better!
