We get to know the replacement witch Corine was also kidnapped but has been strong enough to leave this whole time. She helps Sophia after being attacked, but she still keeps Lucas as a secret from everyone. Derek is full on insta-loving this girl and we don’t know why yet. And she’s starting to do it back, just because he’s a “good guy” vampire? Totally keeping her captive. Shrug. Looked ahead = 7 books+.

Cora the which spelled the island 500 years ago to hide them and have continuous night. He saved her from other vampires and said she was his and to not try to escape again. Brought her back to treehouse but hasn’t locked her in. Creepy Lucas still wants her.

He’s chosen her personally. After a year as a slave, their vampire owners get to decide what happens to them (so only kept 17-18 yo during their “peak”). This is getting gross quickly. Vampires being hunted and decimated in this world, the shade (?).
