We want to synchronize our time off with others, since we all crave human connection

And it’s fine to be mediocre at your hobbies - to pursue an activity knowing you’re not very good at it proves you can pursue something without worrying about using your time well

We somehow see leisure as a means to an end. Aristotle treats it as a high virtue because you choose it for its own sake.

I will say. Post NCAA. Half marathons and road races are a motivating factor, but the memories I made during each run - like a random thing I run by, or a friend I meet up with, makes all my runs like a storybook h love to look back on!

Fixating on being present on the moment can also obscure the experience
