Once a baby can sit up give them a box fitted with a whole and let the child learn to put the ball in the hole. Avoid distractions, even praise will break the child concentration. This helps child develop focus.

Baby room set up
Create a calm minimalist environment
Place the crib with a view of the whole room in a corner. As the child becomes mobile opt for a floor bed with a baby gate on the door.
A mirror on the wall next to the crib, providing another viewpoint of the room
A mobile hung over the crib with changing figures as the baby gets used to them
Also allow the baby to have thoughtful time in the room.

“The human child, on the other hand, is born with no set pattern of instinctive behavior to meet it’s fundamental needs for survival;it options limitless” this statement I don’t agree with, it seems we as humans are born with imitate survival mechanisms.
