I was completely wrong about my initial opinion on this book from that one awkward moment- it was actually really cute and heartfelt and made me cry a couple of times ngl lol it kind of reminded me of "when a man loves a woman" in the fact the girl was broken (from her ex husband mistreating her) and the MMC proved to love her throughout all the messy moments, breaking down her walls and making her feel seen & loved~

I was enjoying this fall escape into a family owned B&B that the daughters taking over following the loss of her mother, while enjoying the golden retriever vibes of the neigboring single dad Baker.... until this "grab my keys from my pocket while I'm holding my daughter" moment happened.
