How are you going with this one? Tragically another school shooting in Thailand. Lots of lessons to be learned and important books like this help us to understand a sad element of society that keeps repeating.

It’s hard going at times. It’s interesting to read how misunderstandings and myths were perpetuated in the aftermath. Why did it happen? Even after reading all of this research, I still don’t understand. But I guess that’s part of being a psychopath, your thinking doesn’t make sense to outsiders. As for the people who recognised the danger from Eric and tried to raise the alarm, what a devastating confirmation of their fears.
I was in my second year of teaching when the Columbine shootings occurred and, sadly, there have been many more since. I’ve taught children who’ve gone on to commit terrible crimes. For some, there were signs that things weren’t right but I would never have imagined their lives would end up where they did.
It’s alarming that kids can lead such angry, violent alternative lives while keeping up pretences at school and with parents.
A sobering, but fascinating, read.
