Great series. If Children of Time is his take on hard sci fi then this is his take on space opera.

Yes, and I’m thoroughly enjoying it. He can pretty much do it all.. I haven’t read a ton of his books yet but I have read Children of Time, Dogs of War, Elder Race, and Ogres. All quite different. All excellent.
