many write about the significance the end of the 60s brought. crowe writes strikingly about the end of the 70s as the loss of adolescence and those, like himself, who were born and came of age in the late 50s- late 70s. he writes what it felt like then. it still feels that way. in chapters like, “Mind over Matter”, there is a sense of being on the precipice. happy/sad. john wayne. van van zandt. sex pistols.
