Opened this up on a whim yesterday to one of the chapters about Lou Reed, and...yowza, this cat can write! Whether any of his ravings would help you in the slightest bit to determine whether you might like the album he's talking about seems kind of beside the point.

Spot on, Mike: Bangs, like Hunter S. Thompson, made the subject matter of his writings superfluous.

It's funny you make that comparison, Julio- at a certain point he mentions having one of Hunter's campaign posters on his wall. Now I'm wondering if they were friends, given they both wrote for the Stone.
