Uhh kinda messed up the progress on Goodreads but the ball has finally dropped! Tantalus and the baby are dead. Very sad and the depiction of Clytemnestra drowning and anger is powerful. It makes your gut hurt and your eyes sting how strong her emotions are and you can feel it radiate off the page! This book does its job in making me hate who I need to hate and leave me in suspense about who I can love.

Im actually quite enjoying the book! Knowing the Odyssey it was great to see PENELOPE so often and see the beginnings of her and Odysseus. I’m actually kind of eating this book up BECAUSE of the current feeling of impending doom. This book makes you both feel for and hate Helen which I actually like because of how Clytemnestra paints her because she is a unreliable narrator in some sense. feeling: ANTICIPATION!

Prettyyyyy good. It’s very female empowerment which I like. I like Clytemnestra as a narrator and how she feels about Helen and her lover. I’m a litttle scared though of what happens next knowing mythology
