I do like how this is unraveling but I’m absolutely losing my marbles on how all the protagonists are this dumb about the bad guy

I’m glad to be a writer who is constantly reading and studying and learning from other people’s work. Whether I enjoy their stories or not.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m having a ball over here, I’m very entertained.

But it’s a firm reminder when I read these things that though I enjoy romantasy, I don’t like the baggage that comes along with these stereotypical romance plots

Been an interesting take on the prejudice and mistrust, especially seeing it on a human side.

The pacing and tone of this is very different. I appreciate it because we’re in the human world and seeing Cedric this book versus what we had with Elyria in Book 1.

Even so. It’s curious the way all of Elyria’s masks are presented and the way she keeps lashing and crashing out.

I’m giving this so much leeway in hopes to remain entertained and hopefully surprised by the plot
