I feel like the beautiful writing of the first quarter or so has gotten pretty sloppy. Things like feeling echoes, tasting visuals, descriptors like “russet-green”—things that just don’t make sense. To me, anyway. Hoping the writing recovers as the story is still interesting🤞🤞

Example: “…exsanguination of its soul.” There’s plenty of neutral language to convey drawing out or depleting without speaking to something specific, such as blood with exsanguination.
