Douglass tells the Reader some frightening as well as “hopeful” things.

- Two slaves a mercilessly killed, one for disobeying the master and the other for not tending to a baby quick enough
- The overseer which reports to the master is the one who the slaves have to encounter day to day. 9/10 it’s a merciless power hungry person
- Frederick is on his way to Baltimore
