it’s interesting that the problem is a lack of communication and the two people are a lawyer (professional yapper) and a girl who isn’t afraid to ask questions. However, Mary acknowledges there is a lack of communication and she gets annoyed and says ok fine then don’t tell me. Being open and plain about your feelings is a fun theme in a period romance that loves flowery roundabout language.
