Really interesting read so far… the father is now dead and Charlie has just tried to find the bog wife, and he’s failed. It’s clear that this family has really culty beliefs so I’m wondering if there’s going to be some kind of ritualistic sacrifice or killing of Charlie because he couldn’t fulfill his “duty” as the new patriarch. This is an… interesting read. Idk what time period this is supposed to take place in? At first I thought 1800s but they mention modern things? This family is giving nationalist traditional creepy incest family and the tradition of having to marry “the bog wife” and their wellbeing being tied to the bog is def an interesting concept.
