It is a little annoying reading this books because the journal entries are in first person and the rest of the book is in third. It trips me up a little bit.

Julie's Journey? More like Julie saves the day. This is very similar to Josefina saves the day so far. With her trying to re-obtain some important valuables that were presumably stolen.

Okay, but this genuinely sounds like a terrible plan. Even if they did tell someone where they are going, if they get lost, it is going to take forever to find them. All this for what? Some old man's signature?

Tracy and April taking a quiz on if they are more similar to a marshmallow or a carrot is such a funny but realistic teen girl thing to do. With a book like this, I would expect the quiz to be something like "Which Beatles member are you most compatible" or "What this famous celebrity wore to blah blah blah." moodiness is justified. Now, she's been reduced to teenage stereotypes for no reason. It feels like they switched authors of something. I'm never really a big fan of the 5th "saves the day" book, especially considering they rarely ACTUALLY "save the day", and if they do, it's mostly their fault in the first place. (Kirsten, Kit, Samantha.) I hope this book will be different.

This book is annoyingly patriotic. Like, I get it, it's the bicenttienl, but they are acting like they were there when the declaration of independence was signed. I guess we have seen some of this type of behavior from Julie, like when she was very passionate about the endagered bald eagle in the previous book. Also, why does Tracy need to be so annoying. I get it, she's the older teen sister, but in the past, her...
