I find it incredible (in a horrifying way) that if one were to suggest, 20 years ago, when this was published, that society was ran by evil pedophile billionaires that rape and kill women as they see fit they and that the police largely facilitate this they would probably be considered unduly conspiratorial if not outright insane whereas now, in 2026, to read such a thing almost feels trite.
