zwarte piet was a yuletide monster in here with alarmingly negative social implications, specifically racism. with the monster after this one being la befana, i was expecting the author to at least identify the misogynistic tones of her story. i was slightly disappointed that he played into that tone a bit with his verbiage, especially with the “sign me up” joke after explaining she’s known for cleaning
