i like that we are finally getting a small crossover of story threads. Helka as passed from Varg’s story into Orka’s. It’s small and minor, just a background thread, but we are moving towards an inevitable collision somewhere

oh Helka is totally trying to set them up to die. something here reeks of sabotage to me. Notice he never actually answered Vol’s pointed questions about how they made it past the guard post in the Bonebacks...

woooaaahhh Elvar is the daughter of STÖRR?? that’s crazy. Also don’t think that Elvar could possibly be Orka anymore so no different points in time across POVs

i’m totally convincing myself that Varg is an Ulfrir-kin, Tainted with Wolf’s blood. i mean come on his name is VARG basically WARG how did i not see this before now

i’m loving all of Varg’s POVs, feeling depression and rage for Orka and what’s happened to her. Elvar i’m still waiting for to get more interesting… wondering if Elvar is actually Orka in the past.

i am LOVING all of the fantasy elements from magic to beasts that are starting to become ever present in the world, no matter how much they want to snuff it out.

Wait so Tainted are people who have the blood of the Dead Gods in their veins... like demigods then. I wonder if the power sets are different or if they’re all just shape shifters. Does the power go down to their children, inheritable? Elvar has doubts but also they’re collecting a bounty so it’s lawful... unless he was telling the truth and Berak is innocent?
